Hello everyone! welcome to our Nepal journey and today we cover a cable car ride to Manakamana Temple. website - www.countrysidetravels.com Subscribe our channel - www.youtube.com/countrysidetravels Manakamana Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to goddess Bhagwati, an incarnation of Parvati and it is situated in the village of Manakamana in Gorkha District The Manakamana Temple is located 1,300 metres (4,300 ft) above the sea level in the Kafakdada Hill which sits in the confluence between Trishuli and Marsyangdi According to Nepali legend, Manakamana Temple was built in the 17th century during the reign of two Kings of Gorkha, Ram Shah or Prithvipati Shah. In earlier times, the only way to reach the Manakamana temple was by a long strenuous trek for about three hours. Now, there is a facility of a cable car from kurintar, just 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) east of Mugling to Manakamana. The cable car rides over the distance of 2.8 kilometres (1.7 mi) in 10 minutes more or less.[citation needed] The cable car usually operates during the daytime from 9 am to 5 pm

Manimahesh Yatra 2022- Kailash Parvat- Lord Shiva abode- Sacred Bath in the Lake - Bharmour, Chamba

Hi, lets take a sacred hike to a place that is worshipped by hindus. It is Manimahesh.

We hike from Gaurikund to the Manimahesh Tirth Lake The Manimahesh Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage to the foot of the Manimahesh Kailas located in the Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh. Manimahesh is supposed to have been created by Shiva after his marriage to Parvati. The name Manimahesh signifies the crystal/gem that sits on top of Shiva’s (Mahesh) head. No one has ever been able to reach the summit of Manimahesh and it remains a mystery to human eyes. Declared as a state-level pilgrimage by the government, the site is dedicated to Hindu God Lord Shiva and is considered the abode of the Hindu God. The journey commences on the day of Janmashtami and ends on the day of Radha Ashtami. Not just pilgrims, this trek is attended by trekkers, nature lovers and mountain walkers from all over the world. Known to be one of the most beautiful treks in the world, the route boasts of sweeping panoramic vistas as the mountain peak is a virgin peak. The Yatra purifies one’s soul and body. A procession known as “holy Chhari” accompanies the yatra wherein pilgrims and sadhus carry holy sticks on their shoulders. The Chhari trek proceeds with the accompaniments of music and hymns in praise of Lord Shiva. The trek starts from the village of Hadsar that is a small distance away from Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh. From Hadsar, the route leads to the hill village of Dancho. This trek can be undertaken even by amateur climbers as the slope is gradual and not very difficult. Here you can also find beautiful views of the Valley of Flowers and short bushy shrubs that have medicinal values. Manimahesh Lake is supposed to be the abode of the Hindu God Lord Shiva. It is believed that while Lord Shiva was performing penance here, a stream of water gushed out from his matted hair and took the shape of the lake. The lake, which is shaped like a saucer, has two different parts. The larger part is called ‘Shiv Karotri’ and has icy cold water. Devotees believe that Lord Shiva used to take bath here. The other, smaller part, is situated at a small distance and has comparatively less chilly and lukewarm water which is called ‘Gauri Kund’. Women are supposed to take a dip in the Gauri Kund. On the periphery of the lake is also situated a large marble image of Lord Shiva called Chaumukha that is worshipped by the pilgrims. There is also a small temple that is presided by Lakshmi Devi. The nearest airport is in Gaggal in Kangra which is at a distance of 170 km. Nearest railway station is in Pathankot in Punjab. From both these places, and also from neighbouring cities and towns, regular bus services are available that ply to and fro to Chamba. From Chamba, there are local buses and jeep services available that can take you to Bharmour.

We take you to village Chhatrari, through these trechourous and thrilling roads. Chhatrari is a village in Himachal Pradesh, India. It is located 48 km from Chamba. It is known for its Chhatrari Devi temple, which was built by King Meru Verman of Bharmour, in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, at an altitude of 6000 feet. Every year on the third day of the Manimahesh Yatra, devotees bring water from Manimahesh Lake and the idol of Shakti is bathed in it, with pious rituals. Chobhia is a Village in Bharmour Tehsil in Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh. Chobia Pass Trek This enchanting trek takes you along the ancient trails of the Gaddis – the local shepherds – over high mountain passes from dry Lahaul valley into the beautiful and un-spoilt valley of Chamba. This pass, at almost 5000m, is a regular crossing for the shepherds but is seldom frequented by trekkers and makes for a great short adventure. Starts from Manali – Trilokinath Temple and ends in Chobia village.

Yes, we head to Chamba. We start our journey by heading towards Bharmour and later to Kugti Village , which is a gateway to Lahaul Spiti valley via Kugti pass. Distance - Chamba to Bharmour - 60kms Bharmour to Hadsar - 13kms Hadsar to Kugti village - 12kms We start at Chaurasi temple and then head to Bharmani Devi temple Chaurasi Temple is a temple complex consisting of 84 different shrines, located in the center of Bharmour town of Chamba district. It holds immense religious importance because of temples built around 1400 years ago. The Chaurasi temple was built by Raja Sahil Verman of Bharmour, in honor of the 84 Siddhas or yogis who had come from Kurukshetra and had meditated there, while they were passing Bharmour on their way to Manimahesh Lake. They blessed the King with ten sons and a daughter, Champavati, as he had no heir. It is said that the pilgrimage to Manimahesh Lake is incomplete without paying obeisance in these temples due to the Dharmeshvar Mahadev (Dharamraj) Temple as one of the most revered by Hindus, and bathing in the Bharmani Mata temple pool of Goddess Brahmani, 4 km from Bharmour, Himachal Pradesh. Kugti Village - Hadsar is a small village in the Chamba Valley of Himachal Pradesh, most famous for being the gateway to the Manimahesh Kailash Yatra, a pilgrimage to a holy lake situated at a whopping 4,080 meters. Right beyond Hadsar, some 13 kilometers away, lies the quaint village of Kugti, the base camp for the lesser explored and extremely difficult trek to Kugti Pass connecting the Chamba and Lahaul districts of Himachal Pradesh. Most people of Kugti belong to the Gaddi community.
